Carlos Sabbagh Biography

Background  Native of Colombia, South America, living in the United States since February 1961.

Businessman  President of Edca Corp., a holding company, composed of ESIMEX, an import-export company, Coffee of Origin a gourmet coffee export company, ProOrigin a coffee processing plant located in Bogotá, Colombia Free Trade Zone, and Intentional Leadership Institute an organization dedicated to business strategies and consulting.

Program Developer  Developed and designed programs dealing with leadership, sales, team building, communications, inspiration, time management, managing emotions, managing change, presentation techniques, meeting management, interviewing skills, strategies and customer service.

Translator  Translated into Spanish, several programs including sales training, management and customer contact.  Official translator for the book “Even Eagles Need a Push”.

Seminar Facilitator & Speaker  Conducted seminars in Latin America, Europe, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and Canada for Picker International, Daimler-Chrysler, Ford, Nissan, Dow Chemical, Caterpillar, and Alcoa.  Possesses strong expertise in Human Resources Development, Sales, Customer Satisfaction, Interpersonal Relationships, Effective Communications, Leadership and Management, Change, Culture Change, Managing Emotions and Self-improvement.

Work Experience  Current president/principal of Edca Corporation, previously worked for Wilson Learning Corporation, an international company specializing in human resource development.

During 15 year career at Wilson Learning, served as Consultant, Regional VP, Divisional VP of Sales, VP of Sales for Domestic Operations, Senior VP of International Operations and President of Europe and Latin America.

Earlier, at Burroughs Corporation as zone manager, branch manager and sales trainer.  Prior to Burroughs, held management positions at Stouffer’s and Sheraton Hotels.

                                                                                                                                

Accomplishments   At Stouffer’s, developed  training system for restaurant employees, improving service levels, customer satisfaction and work climate.

At Burroughs, developed a sales training system improving sales by 40% and reducing sales lead process by 3 months.

As Regional VP at Wilson Learning, changed the culture of the regional organization concentrating on issues such as purpose, goals, positive feedback, personal and task support, and mutual contribution.

As VP of Sales for Domestic Operations, responsible for 10 regions, in­creased sales volume by 30%, gross margins by 10% and bottom line by 20%. Adding sales offices and independent distributors, 10 new Regional Managing Directors and 600 personnel, he delivered $38 million in sales.

As Senior VP for International Operations, responsible for Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, United Kingdom, Europe and Latin America, appointed new distributors, created new products, increased gross margins by 5% and improved net earnings by 20%.

As President of Europe and Latin America for Wilson Learning, opened new markets in Spain, Holland, Finland, Germany, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Chile.

Master-trained in forty-nine programs dealing with human resource development, received numerous awards for civic service and professional perform­ance.
